New outlook or not?

I've been thinking recently about whether or not I should change the look of my blog a little for the year 2009.....

Thinking of moving out of the "black and dark theme" into something more modernized.... Something perhaps.. more bluey... or silvery... Hmph.... But then again.. I might end up not completing the "re-construction" of the blog and blarh... it gets neglected.. =X

If anyone had seen before my previous blog "The Ravenous Mind", I tried to revamp the blog once.... It ended in chaos and neglect because I did the work halfway, got lost and was simply toooooo lazy to get back on track again.. The end result? I tore down the blog and started this one! Hahahahah!!!! =P

So yeah, if I'm going to revamp the look of this blog, I really need to think carefully about how I want it to look and ensure that the job gets completed instead of ending up as another piece of junk like "The Ravenous Mind". =P

Maybe......... I should just get one of those templates and use them... modify them a little. LOL! But you know, I like to do "Testing" and "messing" around first. With "The Ravenous Mind", I obviously did the "testing" on the actual blog in itself, which wasn't a very good idea indeed. Not to worry though, my job in Shell IT/EDS has taught me 1 thing... Test before implementing on the actual thing! Common sense it may seem, but I was previously too confident on the new revamp on The Ravenous Mind that I did the "Testing" on the actual blog.... So yeah, I'm gonna create a test "blog" for me to play around, screw it, modify, do whatever I want, get the thing ready before I actually Implement it on this blog. =P

But first, let me decide if I should go for a new look first. Hahah! ^_^

Whats Cooking at work?

It was a very quiet morning when I reported to work at EDS. Lots of people were on leave because yesterday was a holiday and it was common to take another day off on Friday so you get a long weekend. But the cold and boring atmosphere was soon broken by something cooking right outside my office! Wonder which poor fella'a Proton Putra was smoking itself outside!

The technician shouted that there was a car outside on fire and soon, everyone was at the window side looking at the car (Except for the manager who was sitted next to the window.. He ran away fearing the car will explode!). Well, it was smoking so much, I had that same fear too that it was going to explode! Hmph... but being a Malaysian, I can't help but to stay on and take some pictures!!

It took about 10-15 minutes for the fire engine to come..

They pry the bonnet open to spray the engine compartment.

The car is definitely gone.... It is now... Scrap Metal... =X

I pity the car next to it on the left!

They sealed up the place after that. LOL! Some excitement for a Friday morning!

Lovely Personalized Cup

My girlfriend and I have been talking about having our own personalized cups for us. So after some searching around, I decided to settle for this guy at Time Square. His open with a small cart at level 3 and I have to say his got great skills, and good service. He allowed me to personalize and design the whole cup the way I wanted, and than design the parts which I asked him to. Attaching the pictures to show you how good his skills are, and how sweet my girlfriend and I are. Hehehe! =P

Why did the chicken crossed the road?

Joke forwarded to me by Theepan.

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The
chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MCCAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the
need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on
the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to
cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure
-- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the
chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't
about me.......

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to
know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is
either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES:
I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads,
but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your
check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of the Chicken..This
new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C%
........... reboot.

BILL CLINTON:
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE:
I invented the chicken!

LEE KUAN YEW:
We have installed crossing lights at all traffic junctions. All
chickens should be able to cross safely to the other side.

LEE HSIEN LOONG:
Gantry points have been set up. All chickens wanting to cross the road
are advised to top up their cash cards first.

ABDULLAH BADAWI:
We have to be fair to all chickens. Some want to cross over the road,
some do not. ........ Zzzzzz .......zzzzzz ........ Now what were we
talking about? Ah yes, chickens. We will form a Royal Commission to
decide whether it is right for them to cross the road.

MAHATHIR:
Now even the non-bumi chickens want to cross the road? How can they
disrespect and disregard the bumi chickens? We must be allowed to
cross over first. It is our right!

ANWAR:
We have enough chickens waiting to cross over in September.

SHAHRIR:

All foreign chickens are welcome in Malaysia but they must not cross
over the road within 50km of the border.

WONG KAN SENG:
I am sorry that the chicken was allowed to cross the road. It was an
HONEST MISTAKE. Lets move on.

How to do business with two cows

Forwarded to me by Bun Mei Mei. =P

TRADITIONAL CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when the cow drops dead.

A FRENCH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and
produce twenty times the milk.
You then create clever cow cartoon images called 'Cowkimon' and market
them World-Wide.

A GERMAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You re-engineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and
milk themselves.

A BRITISH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Both are mad.

AN ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows, but you don't know where they are.
You break for lunch.

A SWISS CORPORATION
You have 5,000 cows and none of which belong to you.
You charge others for storing them.

A CHINESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment and high bovine productivity.
You have the newsman who reported on the numbers arrested.

AN INDIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You worship them.

A MALAYSIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You signed a 40-year contract to supply milk at RM0.06 per litre.
Then midway through, you raised the price to RM0.60 or you cut the supply.
When the buyer agrees to the new price, you change your mind again and
now want RM1.20. The buyer decided you can keep the milk.
They go look for milk that comes from recycled cows or the cow urine
instead. Your two cows retire together with the Prime Minister.

A SINGAPOREAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
One cow-peh and one cow-bu

Everyone that is close to me knows that I've attended Malaysian Hell before. This program is called Program Latihan Khidmat Negara, also known internationally as the Malaysian National Service. This program is hell in brief. If people were to protest against it, I'll be the first to be there!

Anyway... I'll be uploading NS pictures to my Flickr Album. Heres my Company to start with. I was in "B" Company, also known as Bravo...

Effective Communication

Posting a forwarded email here. :)

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling!!
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!

New Toy

Last weekend was PC fair, so down I went to KLCC Convention Center. My goal was to get a new Camera. I never actually owned one before apart from my Sony Ericsson W800i! ^_^

Before I went down, I was actually already doing some scouting. I eventually ended with either Olympus and Panasonic. I didn't really like the designs of Point and Shoot cameras coming from Olympus, and also with some influences, I decided to settle for Panasonic, since I think their the best. Was left with basically 2 models to choose from. The FX520 and the FX36.

At the end of the day, I bought the FX36! Got it for RM1150 at PC Fair. Along with it comes the following freebies:
- Panasonic Strap
- Card Holder with Card Reader
- Original Lumix Case
- Weird looking mini Tripod Stand
- 2GB Toshiba High Speed SD Card
- 4GB Toshiba SDHC Card
- Screen Protector (Made in Japan)

It was the best deal available at the PC Fair! Took some pictures of my new toy. Don't worry if the pictures look bad, these were taken using my W800i. LOL! ^_^

The Camera and the box.

The FREEBIES! ^_^
