Perth, Australia - Pinnacles and the Moving Sand Desert

Finally, around the mid afternoon, we arrive at the main destination of this tour. The Pinnacles. Initially, I didn't really know what the pinnacles actually is until we were nearing it. So the bus driver (Who was also the tour guide..) explained that the Pinnacles are actually naturally formed limestone formations. The raw materials used in the creation of these limestone are actually seashells.. If you want to know more about how these limestone are formed, go check wikipedia. =P

After that, we visited the Moving Sands, which is actually a sand dune. Its looks like a huge piece of desert land but here, many Australians come during the weekend to ride buggies, play sand boarding, and test their skills on the 4x4 in riding over the sand hills. These sand hills of course, are formed thanks to the wind, who blows the sand to form these hills. As they are moving, the shape of the hills will change from time to time.

Here are some pictures taken at these 2 places. Don't expect to see anything more than rocks and sands. Hahaha!!

As I was walking back, mother complained that I seemed to be taking picture of every stone I came along (thats exagerration), however when I caught this, I can't help but to take one because it is so..... "interesting". Mother nature does have a sense of humour doesn't she? =P

Some nice flowers I saw, perhaps it was one of those vegetations that help form the limestone. ^_^

In fact, we used it for sand boarding. ^_^

After all these, we finally went back to Perth city, and arrived pretty late, later than dinner time. When we arrive at a place where there were many restaurants, mother was asking if we want to try this restaurant....

P1020380

And we were all like.. "You come all the way here to eat Malaysian food!?!?" In any case, sister says the food doesn't taste good and the boss sucks as well, so in the end, we settled for some Vietnamese food which my sister recommended. I ordered some duck noodle and boy, it tasted really good. It was awesome to have such nice dinner after a long and tiring day without a decent meal!

My next blog about the Australian trip is my Sister's Wedding, the main reason why we came to Australia! ^_^

Perth, Australia - Emu Down Wind Farm and Picnic at Wildflowers

After Caversham Wildlife park, we took a long bus ride down heading towards the pinnacles. Along the way, the driver stopped us at Emu Down Wind Farm. No doubt it was windy and cold, but it wasn't as windy and cold as the wind farm down south at Albany town. At Albany, the wind farm was at the tip of the southern portion of Australia separating the Pacific and the Indian Ocean so it was nearer to the Ocean whereas this one is built on lowlands, no doubt also near coastal area.

Anyway after that, we had the picnic at Wildflowers. The interesting thing is the picnic, not the place. The place is just like a school canteen with a souvenier shop by the food.... It was all cold, cold as in just defrosted type of cold. Everything was cold. Salad, cheese, chicken, ham, eggs, whatever. The only thing that wasn't cold was probably the bread, the fruits and well, instant soup packets. =P

It wasn't appetizing at all but after tasting some of them, it wasn't so bad after all. An interesting experience! Here are the pictures for this section of the trip.

Perth, Australia - Caversham Wildlife Park

So for the next entire day after arriving at Perth, we took the Pinnacles Tour. First stop was to the Caversham WildLife Park. Unfortunately for me, it was a very short tour! Yeah, so short that we were actually rushed to Visit the Koalas, the Kangaroos and than the Wombats and we're done.... -_-"""

There were many other animals there but oh well, couldn't see them. Anyway, here are some pictures taken at Caversham Wildlife Park and I'm sure many people would love the cute Koalas. =P

FYI, the guide said that everyone has mistaken the Koalas for bears and call them Koala bears. They are actually not bears, just Koalas. =P

They actually belong to the Marsupial family. The baby Koala was the star of the show on that day as among others, it was the most active and of course... the cutest. =P

Kangaroos. Nothing interesting to be honest, and don't really look very cute. Quite stinky as well. =P

If you realize, this kangaroo got "Extra" legs. =P

P1020205

Caught these guys play fighting/boxing.

P1020212

And finally, this fella here.... looks like a pig to me...

P1020220

Its actually called a Wombat. I use to find Wombat very cute, especially the soft toy version. But when I saw this i was like "You sure thats a wombat? It looks like a pig...". Well, its a freaking old grandma wombat.. Not only that, I thought I could see a few wombats walking around or something.. See the top view, try to touch it or something, but all I got to see was this "Obscene" pose.. which is soooo disappointing... and nothing to see also... just that it really looks like a PIG.

Looks like the Koala was the cutest. =P

As always, you can find the rest of the photo's on my flickr albums. ^_^

Next post will be about the rest of the trips. =P

Perth, Australia - House

So after the plane ride, we checked into the house which my sister have rented for us. It was a holiday home. The house was huge, 2 storeys high with lots of bed room, a swimming pool, bbq facilities and etc. Well, of course when you rent such a big house, the place wasn't just for us. It was also for my sister's friends and etc.. mostly coming from Singapore. =)

We were very hungry, cause plane food sucks. It was freaking expensive, not that it was unexpected. My dad ate a full meal, mum ate some sandwiches, i ate air. =P

We also had someone who was fasting so when we arrived at Perth, she was obviously starving. We initially wanted to go to a drive thru for some fast food but being unfamiliar with the place, we decided to just go back and cook a simple meal to eat. My dad was the chef, as expected.

Anyway, here are some pics of the house we stayed at. You can find the rest in my flickr album.

I realize I forgot to take the kitchen but anyway, I didn't find anything interesting about the kitchen. =P

My next few blogs would be about the pinnacles tour which occupied the entire day and would include trips to Caversham Wildlife Park, Emu Downs Wind Farm, lunch "picnic" at wildflowers, the Pinnacles and the Moving Sand (I think that is what its called). =P

Man Utd 4 - 3 Man City

Did any Man Utd or City fans miss this game? If you did, oh well, go watch it again even though you already know the score line! Fantastic game. Arguably one of the most exciting matches I've watched. It certainly ranks up there together with 3-2 Juventus game and the 2-1 Bayern Munich Champions League Final.

Well, the defenses of both sides were horrible! But I guess thats what it takes to have a 7 goal derby thriller eh... Actually watched the highlights over and over again and man, what a great match it was and I have so much to comment about each of the individual players.

Tevez? Whose Tevez? Well, no doubt he was a pest to Ben Foster, but if Van Der Sar was the one between the sticks, wouldn't that mean that Tevez's contribution was rather menial? His a Striker, and a striker needs to score. Given that beautiful chance of hitting the net, he hit the post instead! I guess that is why Fergusan hesitated to sign Tevez. When you are about to sell someone like Ronaldo, you need a goal scorer, someone who finishes. Tevez clearly does not have a very good finishing, all he has is stamina and energy to run around, in which we already have in Park Ji Sung and Rooney. Anyway, it was great to see the Man Utd fans booing at Tevez because he deserved it. His just a hypocrite.

Rooney is certainly in fine goalscoring form and if he keeps playing and scoring like that, he can easily cover up for the missing goals by Ronaldo. Rooney is my favourite Man Utd striker after Cantona and I always say, Rooney gives me the excitement as much as Cantona did whenever he had the ball, I always knew something great was gonna happen.

Berbatov.. arh.... You know, I'm actually an admirer of Dimitar Berbatov's skill. His one touch, hold up play and team work is great. His ability to hold the ball and pass it to another team mate is great as well. He has the skills, he has the legs, but you know what I think he lacks? Luck... He scored against Wigan... yeah.. when will he score against a big side? If he scores rarely this season, I'll say, lets give Macheda the chance. =)

From this match, I can deduce 1 thing about Ben Foster... He may be a good goalkeeper, but he is nowhere near on replacing Van Der Sar. In all the matches he has played this season, he perfomed well again Wigan, Birmingham, Tottenham... but in matches against Chelsea and Man City, he sucked. What can I say? Unlike Fletcher, Ben Foster isn't the player who savour the big games. Fergie should start looking for Van Der Sar's replacement and probably hold on the Kucszak in the mean time!

Fletcher reminds me of the Paul Scholes of young. Low profile, not anytime the fan's favourite but always showing up in the big games and scoring the kind of goals I call "ghosting" goals. Like Paul Scholes, he will stay out of the box and pop into the box to guide in a header into the net whenever a cross comes in. In this occasion, he scored 2, courtesy of 2 Giggs cross. Fletcher may lack the skills of the killer pass of Scholes, but he certainly can tackle better, if not, at least tackle without being caught! HA! =P

It was nice to see Man Utd passing the ball around neatly in the final third, but after letting in 2 goals, the pass from Rio Ferdinand was horrible in the last minute! For a moment, I was trying to deceive myself into believe that it wasn't Rio, it was Anton Ferdinand. But reality is such. We haven seen Rio Ferdinand made many mistakes, but this one was mistake which could have been a nightmare if not for Owen.

And oh boy, I was about to stand up and leave for the gents when extra time when into 95th minute. I thought it was over until there was a free kick and I thought, why not just sit down for awhile more and see what happens. Free Kick taken, wasted, ball thrown back into the box and somehow fell to Giggs in the middle of the pitch and tadah! A defense splitting through ball to Owen who gladfully took this perfect opportunity to finish the game and become Man Utd's new hero! (Try learning that Tevez!). Our new no. 7 may not be in the starting line up, but with his scoring touches like this, he may well be our next baby face assassin! Owen may not have been doing very well at Newcastle, but with players like Giggs around him, he'll certainly be smiling more often than he used to and very soon, he'll be on his way to South Africa with England!

My favourite player of the game? Ryan Giggs... Did anyone mention that he is now 35 years of age? I actually dont' believe that is is 35. I think he is deceiving the whole world, he is actually 25. What does he eat for meals? Energizer batteries? This veteran never seem to die out of energy. People who don't really know Giggs might think he is a goalkeeper. Being a midfielder requires a whole lot of stamina and physique and Giggs even though at 35, has it all. Only Goalkeepers remain at the top of their game at ages like 35 but for Giggs, he doesn't seem to care. With 2 excellent crosses for both Fletcher's goal as well as an excellent pass to Owen, one you'll see from the likes of Scholes, can anyone name me someone else more fitting of the Man of the Match award? My personal MoM is Giggsy!

Oh yeah, my thumbs up for Bellamy, who took advantage of Sloppy defending from the devils and finishing with 2 beautiful goals. If not for Owen scoring to help the team in Red win, I wouldn't have taken the time to erm hm.... admire your goals (not your character though!).

And just for anyone who wondered what was the significance of Sir Alex Ferguson's substitution in the 93'rd minute? Well, if anyone would like to call it other stuffs, personally, I call it a saint's judgement. It was a soothsayer's substition. One which bought Ferguson 30 seconds in addition to 1 min from Bellamy's celebraton, and the 30 seconds in which Owen scored the goal in the last of it. It was as though he visionalized Owen scoring in the last second and used his final card to buy that 30 seconds for Owen to win the game for United.

To win the Premier League, you need luck! And from this Match, Man Utd had plenty of skills plus luck. City? They had some luck, but ran out of it. =P

This will be a very interesting season!

Perth, Australia - Plane Ride

So yeah, I was saying earlier that I'm gonna post about my trip to Perth, Australia. It was actually for my Sister's Wedding, which went perfect in my opinion but I'll talk more about that when I come to that day. =P

I don't really want to type alot, just want to share some nice pictures. Took Jet Star asia for the first time. Wasn't that comfy, but can't expect much for a cheap flight right? Flight left on time and arrived on time but 1 thing I found extremely irritating was the passengers that was onboard the same flight. Its like as though the whole plane was filled with families with kids and toddlers! Well, not like there is anything wrong with it but the noisiest among them sits directly behind me! 2 toddler girl and an infant boy. They talked, played, shout, screamed, laughed, cried for the entire 5 and a half hour journey!!!! Can you imagine that? In addition, they were also kicking my darn chair! OMG!!!!! -_-"""

Yeah... try wondering what the parents were doing! (playing with the kids...). So freaking inconsiderate! Blarhz! I wish I could just give them some sedatives to shut up for a couple of hours and let me have some rest!

Anyway, the plane ride was horrible, actually the worst part of the trip (duh...). However, now that I have a pretty cool camera, I decided to pass my boredom by taking some nice pictures while on the plane! There's more on my flickr album, but here are the nicer ones!

House Lizard

House Lizard, or whatever it is called, is a reptile commonly found in everyone's home down here in Malaysia as well as Singapore. Highly agile creatures, they crawl from wall to wall to feast on insects such as mosquitoes and flies. Try attacking them and they might leave a tail behind which will start jumping up and down, making you think as though the lizard has suddenly gone berserk while the real Lizard has actually escaped. Their pretty harmless although some people, especially the female gender, finds them rather disgusting or what we call "gerly". =P

In any case, here's a picture of what the house lizard looks like.

As a final piece of note, this is what someone does when he is super lame + Super bored.

The picture is a result of boredness on one fine weekend, while this blog post... is just me being lame. =P
